Ben joined Spire Capital in March 2017 as an Associate. Ben is responsible for transaction sourcing, executing new investments and portfolio company management at Spire.

Prior to joining Spire, Ben served as an Analyst in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Investment Banking Group at Barclays. While at Barclays, Ben was responsible for valuation and financial analyses supporting M&A, debt and equity transactions.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University.

Tracy joined Spire in 2016 as Office Manager. Prior to joining Spire, Tracy was the Executive Assistant to the Head of Restructuring Banking at Sander O’Neill.

Tracy holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management & Finance from Long Island University and a Series 7 License.

Outside of work Tracy enjoys weekends in Central Park with her daughter and dog, beach vacations and the pursuit of the perfect dirty Martini.

Andy is a founding partner of Spire Capital, having been with the firm since its inception in 2000. Andy plays an active role in both sourcing, executing and overseeing portfolio company investments, and leads the firm’s fundraising activities.

Prior to co-founding Spire Capital, Andy co-founded Waller-Sutton Media Partners, a private equity fund focused on the media and communications industries. Prior to Waller-Sutton, Andy was the president of Waller Capital Corporation, an investment bank specializing in media and communications mergers and acquisitions. While at Waller Capital, Andy was responsible for providing merger and acquisition, as well as equity and debt capital private placement advisory services to media and communication companies including major cable television operators and cable television programming enterprises.

Prior to joining Waller Capital, Andy spent seven years in the media and communications lending departments of Philadelphia National Bank and Manufacturers Hanover Trust. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Duke University.

Andy is a Director of Lighthouse eDiscovery and Vector Media. He was formerly a Director of American Community Newspapers, AssetNation, Inflow Group, Just Marketing International, Professional Bull Riders, PowerOne Media, Rainbow Child Care Centers, Regent Communications, SkyMall, SpectraSite Communications, Sonitrol, Tarpon Towers, and The Golf Channel. Andy is also the founder of Heathland Capital Partners, an investment management company.

Andy enjoys spending time with his family. He has a passion for golf and fitness and is an enthusiastic NY Rangers and Duke sports fan.

Bruce is a founding partner of Spire Capital, having been with the firm since its inception in 2000. Bruce plays an active role in both sourcing and overseeing portfolio company investments and also works closely with the firm’s Chief Financial Officer in fund administration.

Prior to co-founding Spire, Bruce was the managing partner of Waller-Sutton Media Partners, a private equity firm focused primarily on the media and communications industries. Prior to Waller-Sutton, Bruce served in a number of operational roles. As Chief Financial Officer of Horizon Cellular, Bruce was responsible for all financial operations of this private equity backed wireless carrier and oversaw its sale for approximately $600 million. Bruce also served as Vice President-Finance of a middle market cable television and wireless telephone operator.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Vermont and a Masters in business administration degree from New York University.

Bruce currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Surgent Professional Education and NetFortris. Bruce previously served as Chairman of the Board of Performance Assessment Network and Director of American Community Newspapers, Apex Site Management, Ariston Global, Certiport, Choice One Communications, Encoda Systems, Just Marketing International, Nassau Broadcasting Partners, Rainbow Child Care Centers, Sonitrol, and Orcom Solutions.

Piper joined Spire Capital in April 2013 as Director of Finance. Piper works alongside the CFO on internal accounting, control and compliance matters as well as working with portfolio company investments on financial and operational issues. Prior to joining Spire, Piper served as CFO at Ariston Global, a portfolio company of Spire. At Ariston, Piper was responsible for all aspects of the company’s accounting and finance operations.

Prior to joining Ariston, Piper was the Area Controller for Loomis Armored US Inc. responsible for  financial management functions in the southwest region. Prior to Loomis, Piper worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Audit and Assurance division where she focused primarily on the telecommunication industry.  She received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Arkansas and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Sean joined Spire Capital as a Principal at the time of its formation in 2000. At Spire, Sean focuses on sourcing and leading transactions, developing industry and executive relationships, as well as investor relations. Sean spends significant time in the business services, information services, software and media sectors.

Prior to joining Spire Capital, Sean served as a Vice President at a growth stage focused private equity firm, Waller-Sutton Media Partners. He was previously at Waller Capital Corporation, providing merger and acquisition advisory services to the media and communications industries. Prior to Waller Capital, Sean spent three years in Arthur Andersen’s Valuation Services Consulting Group focusing on media and communications assignments.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Binghamton University and a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University. Sean also received his Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation in 1996.

Sean is currently the Chairman of Veraction, Inc. and On Campus Marketing, Inc. and a Director of Lighthouse eDiscovery, Inc. He formerly was a Director of AssetNation, Inc. Carpathia Hosting, Inc., Highline Media LLC, iNNERHOST, Inc., PBR, Inc, SkyMall, Inc. and Velocity Technology Solutions, Inc.

Outside of work, Sean enjoys triathlon training/races, fishing, coaching junior basketball and spending time with his family, including his four young boys.

Rupali joined Spire Capital in September 2015 as an Associate. Rupali is responsible for transaction sourcing, executing new investments and portfolio company management at Spire.

Prior to joining Spire, Rupali served as an Analyst in the Project Finance & Infrastructure Group and the Media and Communications Investment Banking Group at Citigroup. While at Citigroup, Rupali was responsible for valuation and financial analyses supporting debt and equity financings, as well as sellside M&A transactions.

Rupali holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Marquette University.

Rupali serves on the Spire Capital teams managing the investments in Lighthouse eDiscovery, NetFortris and Surgent Professional Education.

Don joined Spire Capital in 2006 as the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer. Don is responsible for the firm’s fund administration, investor relations, compliance and works closely with each of the portfolio companies’ financial and accounting teams. Don also manages the accounting due diligence at Spire for prospective investments.

Prior to joining Spire, Don was the Chief Financial Officer at Iron Oak Development, a mid-Atlantic real estate investment firm, with responsibilities including planning, developing and implementing all financial controls and reports in connection with the investment entities. Prior to Iron Oak, Don spent eight years as CFO/COO of Specialty Brands, a private-equity backed consumer company. Additionally, Don spent fifteen years as Regional Controller at Wawa Food Markets in both operational and financial roles.

He graduated from Widener University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Don serves as a Director of On Campus Marketing.

Don juggles life with kids who play high school varsity lacrosse, field hockey, basketball and soccer. Don is a 4-4 fan on the Philadelphia sports scene and loves vacationing with his family at the Jersey shore.

David joined Spire Capital in 2001 as an Associate and was named a Partner in 2012. At Spire, David focuses on sourcing and leading transactions in the education, technology/software services and media/entertainment sectors. Prior to joining Spire, David served as an Analyst in the Financial Sponsors Group at Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. While at Bear, Stearns & Co, David focused on M&A advisory and capital markets’ activity as part of the portfolio coverage teams for private equity firms with investments in technology, communications and media.

David received a BS in Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and majored in Finance with a minor in Economics.

David is currently a Director of NetFortris and Surgent Professional Education. He previously served as a Director of Rainbow Early Education Holdings, Just Marketing International, Professional Bull Riders and Ariston Global.

Karl is a Vice President at Spire Capital, where he is responsible for transaction sourcing, executing new investments and portfolio company management.

Prior to joining Spire, Karl was a Vice President at Dubin Clark & Company, a private equity group investing in middle market companies. During his two years at Dubin Clark, Karl helped acquire four new investment platforms, close and integrate over ten add-on acquisitions, refinance a number of portfolio companies, and successfully divest one portfolio investment. Karl played an active role on the Board of Directors for a number of Dubin Clark portfolio companies. Prior to Dubin Clark, Karl worked for The Riverside Company and Harris Williams & Co. Inc.

Karl received an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and a BA, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University, where he majored in Economics and minored in Corporate Strategy.

Karl is a Board Director at NetFortris and a Board Observer at On Campus Marketing and Veraction.

Karl is an avid outdoorsmen who enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking with his wife and Vizsla.
