Partnership with iNNERHOST offers customers a complete Microsoft-based hosting solution
Sao Paulo, Brazil — iNNERHOST, a global provider of complex managed hosting and Microsoft application services, announced today a partnership agreement with Dedalus, one of the largest providers in Brazil of outsourced services and solutions based on the Sun, Unix and Oracle platforms.
As part of the agreement, Dedalus will be offering its customers solutions based on the Microsoft platform. These solutions include hardware, software, connectivity, database management, firewall, daily backup and help-desk service. Further, these solutions will be monitored and managed by teams from both companies, providing customers with an extended team of certified technical specialists.
“Through the partnership with iNNERHOST, Dedalus will be providing both complex managed hosting services on the Microsoft platform and hosted exchange services. The solution is geared to companies who want to outsource their entire IT infrastructure, which includes everything from the administration of their collaborative software to the management of mission critical applications such as Biztalk and SQL Server,” said Silvia Fernandez, ASP manager of Microsoft Brazil.
“Our alliance with Dedalus solidifies our footprint in the Brazilian market by providing Dedalus customers with immediate access to the latest Microsoft solutions,” said Luis Navarro, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of iNNERHOST. “Savvis, a telecommunications provider, will be managing the new NAP – Network Access Point – in the Dedalus facility. This environment is ideal for running our Microsoft applications and gives the reach necessary to service the Brazilian market. We are in good company.”
Currently the largest provider in Brazil of Sun Microsystems solutions, Dedalus will now offer its users the latest applications available from Microsoft. Among these applications include Microsoft SQL Server 2000, a complete database and analysis platform for next-generation e-commerce and data warehousing applications; Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000, a comprehensive server enabling users the ability to address integrated challenges from the enterprise to the Internet; Microsoft Commerce Server 2000, a comprehensive system for the rapid and personalized creation of e-commerce, business-to-business and business-to-consumer solutions and Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, a highly reliable, easily managed, scalable collaboration and messaging infrastructure.
In partnership with iNNERHOST, Dedalus is now able to offer Globally Dispersed Clustering solutions. Configuring customer servers at multiple data centers will allow for the data to be continuously replicated in real-time. In the event of a natural disaster, data is routed to the next closest or most available data center operated by iNNERHOST, providing customers with the most reliable solution available today.
“Along with the competitive status that we will have with the NAP in our facility we will be able to combine the complex managed hosting with a higher level of quality and competitive prices. The NAP will be managing over 50% of the Internet traffic in the country. Major ISPs, such as UOL – one of the leaders in the Brazilian market – and telecommunication carriers will be exchanging traffic through this NAP. With this partnership we are combining our experience in the Brazilian complex managed hosting market with the technical know-how iNNERHOST brings to the table. We too are in good company,” said Dario Boralli, Chief Executive Officer for Dedalus.
Dedalus, which was founded in April 2000, has already invested US$7 million and plans to invest an additional US$35 million by 2003 in its expansion.
